FINAL THESIS
Bodily Knowledge in the Sketchbook Work
for the Design of Haute Couture Bags:
Prima Ballerina Shoe Collection as a Starting Point
In my final thesis I investigated how bodily knowledge derived through dance could be used in a creative sketchbook process.
Inspired by my background in ballet, I incorporated dance & somatic methods, particularly Bartenieff Fundamentals, with traditional sketching techniques in an endeavor to design a truly unique bag collection.
The sketching process largely followed Kolb's Experimental Learning Cycle which alternates doing and reflecting.
Other framework fo the thesis were Haute Couture bags, rococo style & previously designed Prima Ballerina collection – a guiding star of the design of the bags
